Stanton Barrett will once again pilot the #31 Rick Ware Racing car in the Nationwide Series at Daytona this year. He will be joined by teammate Chrissy Wallace in the #41. Fuel Doctor will be the sponsor. No word on what other races Barrett will run for RWR.

My appologies for being away so long, I've been extremely busy with projects. I was watching practice on ESPN2 and noticed Stanton on the speed charts. Glad to see him back behind the wheel. The cars look sharp, but they need to pick up some speed. Stanton needs to pick up about .5 seconds or more to have a good chance at making the race.

In practice #1, Barrett was 44th quickest out of 51, with a 50.670 in 8 laps. Happy Hour saw him move up to 37th on the charts (of 51 who took time), with a 50.557 in 10 laps. Qualifying today was rained out, so Barrett and teammate Chrissy Wallace in the #41 are in the show tomorrow based on qualifying draw. Stanton starts 41st, and Chrissy 35th. Fuel-Doctor is the sponsor on both cars if you'd like to e-mail them and thank them for sponsoring Stanton and Ware Racing. The race is at 1:15pm ET.
As a sidenote, both Ware Racing trucks, driven by Brett Butler and Donnie Neunberger, made the race scheduled for tonight.

Not a good afternoon for RWR at Daytona; hopefully the evening will prove better luck, with Brett Butler and Donnie Neuenberger in RWR trucks for the Craftsman Truck Race. Chrissy Wallace in the #41 wrecked on the first lap of the race. Car was torn up and she finished 43rd, collecting $45,585. Stanton fared a little better, and made it up to 22nd at one point. He had a right spring issue that they probably would've gotten fixed on the next caution-flag pit-stop, but it never came, as he was involved in the first big one. I thought he was far back enough to avoid the wreck, but I think his spotter messed up and he ran right into it, destroying the car. He finished 37th, finishing 67 laps and making $45,920. At least they came away with relatively good paydays, but two extremely damaged cars. I listened to Stanton on Trackpass as Nascar.com was offering it free this week. Not sure of Ware's plans (or Stanton's) for future races. Next is California, in Stanton's neck of the woods, so I'd hope he'd be back in the car. Not sure about sponsorship either, but the Fuel Doctor cars looked good.
